Green Line Completes Full End-to-End Trial Run
SMRL conducts a successful full end-to-end trial run on the Green Line covering the complete Bhesan–Saroli stretch with newly inducted Alstom train sets.
Surat Metro Rail Limited (SMRL) has successfully completed a full end-to-end trial run on the Green Line (Corridor 2), covering the complete Bhesan to Saroli stretch, with Alstom-manufactured train sets.
The trial run was observed by senior officials from SMRL and the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety's office. Systems tested included door operations at all stations, platform screen doors, passenger information displays, air conditioning, emergency braking, and the Automatic Train Protection system.
All systems performed within specified parameters, with minor calibration adjustments made to door synchronisation at a handful of stations — since rectified. SMRL will now conduct integrated system tests before submitting the Green Line for full CMRS safety inspection.
'The Green Line's fully elevated alignment made this one of our smoothest trial runs yet,' said an SMRL Operations official. Commercial operations on the Green Line are expected to follow the Red Line's priority-section launch.
